Spoke with Karl about the Samsung Galaxy Tab on the Today Show this morning. It certainly looks like it is set to give the iPad a run for its money and will be available by the end of the year. It uses the Google Android operating system, so will be open to a lot of different applications. There is a huge amount of functionality including the ability to make phone calls, take pictures and HD video, as well as being an e-book reader. Plus I managed to get an interview with Samsung’s vice president of telecommunications Tyler McGee, which also offered some interesting insights as to where they see the market for the device.
Pricing and availability have yet to be confirmed.
