Spoke with Karl on the Today Show about the new Windows Phone 7 mobile operating system, which came on the market this week.
There are a few things to like about it – nice big user interface, cool social networking integration, a camera whereby you don’t’ have to go to a separate screen and set it up, plus aggregation of all Windows Live and other Microsoft applications under the one roof.
What I don’t like? There is no tethering. Being a guy who’s on the road a lot of the time, tethering is a really important feature I need for my mobile phone. There is also no copy and paste function, which is something I use all the time when SMSing somebody part of an email or document. I’m hoping for updates soon via an app developer so these missing features will no longer be a problem.
At the end of the day, it looks like Microsoft are back in operating system market, and I put them in the top three at the moment. It will be interesting to see how other vendors react to Windows Phone 7 Mobile.
