Life & Technology – 2GB June 29th

Today on Life & Technology Radio Show on 2GB the discussions circled on televisions and electronic wastes.

 

Our first guest was Harvey Norman’s Nigel Dent. Nigel Dent is the National Business Manager for Audio Visual at Harvey Norman and today he talked about some of the smart TVs that are currently out in the market. Nigel Dent also discussed a few things about Plasma and UHD TVs as well as some deals with regards to the purchase of these products.

 

Also on the show today is Carmel Dollisson, CEO of Tech Collect. Charlie and Carmel Dollisson discussed a recent report released by the tech forum on how Australians set a world record in e-waste stakes. Specifically, Carmel Dollisson talked about some of the initiatives the company has placed in order to encourage people to recycle their e-waste.

 

Carmel Dollison also educated our listeners on how much it cost people to recycle their wastes and other items relevant to this process such as identifying the most popular items being recycled and what happens to such products after recycling.

 

And as always, Charlie answered some questions which was emailed or tweeted by listeners of the show.

Life & Technology – 2GB June 22nd

Today on Life & Technology Radio Show on 2GB Charlie talks about the Sony Xperia Z tablet and a new app that’s very useful when you’ve had too much to drink.

 

Our first guest on the show is Paul Colley, Sony’s Group Manager for Network Services and Technology. Paul and Charlie talked about the company’s newest Android tablet – the Xperia Z. The two discussed the different features of the tablet that also make it stand out from other tablets, its target market and of course its price.

 

Also on the show today is Andrew Mathews, the developer of an app called Drunk Detector. As the name implies, the app is designed with drinkers in mind. The app is built specifically to stop people from sending tweets, emails, putting up Facebook posts, etc when they’ve had too much to drink.

 

During the show, Andrew talked about his reasons for developing the app, its practicality, its features and availability and its price.
