Life & Technology – 2GB March 2nd

This week on Life & Technology radio show on 2GB, Charlie talks a lot of things about mobile. First on the list, Charlie talked to the Manager of the Consumer Interest Australian Communication & Media Authority (ACMA) – Alan Chalmers on ACMA’s new guidelines with regards to what mobile phone, telephone and broadband providers must disclose to consumers when selling a plan.

Specifically, they talked about the reason why ACMA decided to set this standard, the contents of the Critical Information Summary (CIS), the response of the industry to this new standard, the benefits of CIS to consumers and what consumers should do in case providers are not able to provide this information.

Charlie also talked about a few things about this year’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain.  These include upcoming trends and technologies coming to the smartphone industry in the very near future such as 4G data connection speeds and increased broadband use in the future.

And of course, Charlie answered a few questions from callers.
