Life & Technology - 2GB 27th December, 2015
2016 isn’t far away, and as soon as the clock strikes midnight, everyone will be firing off text messages to friends, family and loved ones. As such, it’s no surprise that New Year’s Eve is one of the busiest times of the year for Australian telcos. This week I talked with Telstra Director of Wireless Engineering Channa Senevirante to learn more about what goes into preparing for the turn of the year.
Virtual reality is going to be one of 2016’s most exciting technologies, but if you have a new Samsung smartphone, you can already get a taste. I spoke with Samsung Australia Corporate Vice President Phil Newton about the company’s virtual reality headset, the Gear VR. Read more about it here.
The Consumer Electronic Show is one of the biggest technology events of the year, and I’m close to jetting off to Las Vegas to see what gadgets will hit Australian shelves in 2016. Ahead of my trip, I had a chat with Jim Barry of the Consumer Electronics Association to try and get a few hints about what will be on display.
