Today Show – Mother's Day Gift Ideas

With Mother’s Day just around the corner, put away the flowers and chocies and think a little outside the square.

I spoke with Cam and Alisha about some gadgets you might want to consider when deciding on a gift for Mother’s day. First up was the Halo headphones, which offer up a set of headphones inside a headband. The manufacturer claims the one thing about these headphones compared to others, is that they are so comfortable, you can even go to sleep with them on and you will not notice them digging into your ear.

We then looked at the digital radio, which is really taken off. According to Commercial Radio Australia stats approximately 500,000 Aussies listen to digital radio. With a tonne of stations, plus the ability to pause a broadcast and then come back later and start it again is certainly a handy feature.

We then had a quick look at Ego portable hard drive. Not the sexiest Mother’s Day gift, but certainly a practical for the modern mum. It has up to a 500GB capacity, which is huge, and offers both stay-at-home and working mums a solution to their computer storage needs

Finally, I put up the Cybershot TX5 as a nice, compact, present for mum. At just over $500, it’s a little pricey, but one that is shockproof, waterproof and can take a fall from up to a metre. It can also shoot pictures in low light.

We also looked at a couple of websites you can go to for online shopping.Check out the www.anythingbutflowers.com.au and www.dealsdirect.com.au. Be sure to order a few days before next Sunday though, so the present will arrive on time!
